“Dancing With the Stars” celebrated its 10-year anniversary as Season 20 began Monday night on ABC. To the delight of most viewers, Noah Galloway, a U.S. Army veteran and double amputee, gave one of the most inspirational performances with partner Sharna Burgess.

His name quickly became a top-trending topic on Twitter. Fans gushed about Galloway and his perseverance. Even J.R. Martinez, who took home the coveted Mirror Ball trophy in Season 13, took to Twitter to praise him.

The Alabama native, 33, made it clear he did not want any special treatment on Monday’s show. In a quote he posted on Instagram, he said: “I am not a professional athlete, nor will I ever be able to compete against those who are considered professional athletes. But, I can and always will push myself to my own limits, breaking personal goals as often as possible.”

What some people may not know is that Galloway lost part of two left limbs during Operation Iraqi Freedom in December 2005 after a hidden bomb was tripped and ignited. Ten years later, Galloway finds himself on “DWTS” and part of “Team Shway.”

Before the show, Galloway garnered attention as a Tough Mudder and Crossfit competitor who has motivational determination and endurance. The father of three makes sure to note on his official Twitter page that he isn't affiliated with the Wounded Warrior project.

Check out "DWTS" every Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT. Fans who want to vote for the duo can go to ABC.com, call or head to the “DWTS” Facebook page. The judges gave them a score of 28.
