Army veteran Noah Galloway proposed to girlfriend Jamie Boyd during the live show of “Dancing with the Stars” Monday night. He gave Boyd, an Army Reserve specialist, a two-carat, princess-cut diamond on an 18-karat white gold band from XIV Karats in Beverly Hills, People reported.

Before he proposed, Galloway, 33, danced to "Time of My Life" with professional dance partner Sharna Burgess. When they completed their performance, host Erin Andrews asked Boyd to join them backstage.

Galloway told Boyd she had given him the time of his life and that he wanted to give her a ring. He went down on one knee as the crowd roared. Of course, Boyd said yes.

Earlier in the season, Boyd surprised Galloway by showing up at one of his performances. It was her unexpected appearance that made him realize he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

"That was a moment when I knew I wanted to propose to her on the show. I always thought if I made it to the finale I would propose, but I realized the competition is so stiff I couldn't let the opportunity pass me by, in case this is the end of the road for me on the show,” he told People. "Jamie has been so supportive throughout my entire journey. I have been wanting to propose for a while, and when she surprised me in the Skybox, it was such a shock, if I had the ring with me I would have done it right then and there.”

This isn’t Galloway’s first engagement. He divorced his first wife while recovering from the loss of his left leg and arm in a bombing. “I remember thinking it was all over. I was very physical. I'd lost two limbs, a wife. You know, I remember thinking I much rather had died than wake up like this,” he told CNN in 2012.
