WrestleMania 33 is the highlight of WWE’s biggest weekend of 2017, but it isn’t the only wrestling show this weekend in Orlando. NXT TakeOver: Orlando will take place Saturday night, less than 24 hours before the pay-per-view.
Five matches are scheduled for the event, which starts at 8 p.m. EDT. It can be seen only with a live stream on WWE Network. A subscription to WWE Network costs $9.99 per month, but new subscribers get the first month for free.
READ: WWE WrestleMania 33 matches and predictions
Here’s a look at the NXT TakeOver: Orlando card and predictions for each match.
Bobby Roode vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (NXT Championship Match)
Neither Roode nor Nakamura is likely to leave NXT just yet, so this match could go either way. The best bet is probably for Nakamura to reclaim his championship, setting up a rubber match between the two superstars at the next TakeOver event. As much as fans would like to see Roode and Nakamura on WWE’s main roster, they’ve got a good feud going in NXT, and it makes sense to stretch it out a little bit longer. The loser could be in WWE just in time for SummerSlam, or shortly after the August PPV.
Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura
Asuka vs. Ember Moon (NXT Women’s Championship Match)
Asuka still has never been pinned or submitted in NXT, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see her retain the belt. However, it might be time for the champ to suffer her first loss. Having held the title for a year straight, Asuka’s time in NXT could be winding down. She’s going to lose to someone before she heads to WWE’s main roster, and it might be Moon, considering the way the NXT announcers have been selling her finisher over the last few weeks.
Prediction: Ember Moon
The Authors of Pain vs. DIY vs. The Revival (NXT Tag Team Championship Elimination Match)
The fact that it’s an elimination match doesn’t bode well for either of the former championship teams. The Authors of Pain might have dropped the titles if they didn’t have to get pinned in order to lose, but it’s hard to imagine either Akan or Rezar falling victim to a ref’s three-count. They haven’t lost as a team or in a singles match, and they’ll probably stay undefeated Saturday night. The Revival won the NXT Tag Team Championships a year and a half ago, and a loss could be a sign that they will debut on “Monday Night Raw” or “SmackDown Live” shortly after WrestleMania 33.
Prediction: The Authors of Pain
Sanity vs. Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, No Way Jose & Ruby Riot
Sanity has largely gotten the upper hand during this feud that began a few months ago. It began at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio when Eric Young beat Dillinger the night before the Royal Rumble. Dillinger, Strong and No Way Jose have all suffered beatdowns along the way, and it’s time they got their revenge. Riot is having her first NXT TakeOver match, and she’ll be booked strong after recently making her debut.
Prediction: Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, No Way Jose & Ruby Riot
Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Aleister Black
Saturday will be Black’s NXT debut, which means he’s all but guaranteed to win. The likes of Apollo Crews, Nakamura and Kevin Owens first appeared in NXT by winning at a TakeOver event, and Black should have a similar first match.
Prediction: Aleister Black
