  • Prince Charles was, reportedly, caught off guard after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, allegedly,  trademarked their royal charity's name
  • The Prince of Wales is 'suspicious' of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's motives
  • Prince Charles, reportedly, stated that Prince Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, thinks she is a Kardashian

Prince Charles is said to be one of the most affected members of the royal family when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their decision to quit. Reports have it that the husband of Camilla Parker-Bowles was caught off guard by the Sussex couple’s move. Because of this, there have been reports saying that the Prince of Wales is, already, considering cutting him off.

Woman’s Day Australia claimed Prince Charles was not pleased, at all, when Prince Harry and Meghan trademarked their royal’s charity name at the Intellectual Property Office over the holiday break. The entertainment news publication reported that Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s parents also trademarked counseling services, magazines, books, and clothing pieces.

“He’s suspicious of their motives and what kind of branding they’re planning. Everyone knows Meghan thinks very highly of herself, and Charles wouldn’t put it past her to have something in mind that might eclipse the Mountbatten-Windsor name,” an insider told the outlet. “Charles has been saying the woman thinks she’s a Kardashian, the way she’s plotting to use the family for fame. He’s berating himself for not stopping her from getting out of hand earlier. The signs were all there the second she and Harry started talks about a TV show with Oprah,” it went on.

The same tipster claimed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not consult Prince Charles about their move. It even described it as the “latest act of defiance from Harry and Meghan and a mark of huge disrespect.” The father of Prince William was said to be enraged after learning that the trademark covered so many services and products.

Aside from Prince Charles’ fury, there are also reports saying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not welcome to stay in Canada permanently. The Globe and Mail claimed the country would break an “unspoken constitutional taboo” and spend millions of dollars for their security.

"In Britain, the monarch reigns but does not rule. In Canada, the monarch neither rules nor resides. She's a virtual monarch," editorial page editor Tony Keller said to Insider. "The 'Crown' is just an idea, but for the Canadian system of government, it's a very real and even necessary idea,” he continued.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to comment on the newspaper’s statements. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, previously, revealed, in a statement posted on Instagram, that they will be splitting their time between Canada and the United Kingdom. It remains to be seen, however, if the pair would retain their titles and continue their royal duties.
