Prince Harry and Meghan Markle skipping Princess Beatrice’s wedding will be deemed a “massive snub.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced last month that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family and would work to be financially independent. Following their bombshell announcement, Prince Harry and Markle flew to Canada.

Now, many are wondering if they will attend Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in May. According to royal expert Angela Mollard in “New Idea’s Royals” podcast, there are chances that they might skip it due to their responsibility to the Commonwealth. But if they do, it will be deemed a major snub.

“I think the Commonwealth meeting is very important obviously because that’s the role the Queen gave them as Commonwealth youth ambassadors,” Mollard said.

“It will be interesting to see if they come back for that. If they don’t come back for Beatrice’s wedding I think it will be the most tremendous stink. It will just be seen as an absolutely massive snub to the Royal Family and would suggest that they absolutely put their own needs ahead of other royalty.”

Mollard stressed that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were present on Prince Harry and Markle’s big day. Co-host Zoe Burrell added that personally, she wouldn’t want to miss a relative’s wedding. However, Mollard said that the Sussexes want to miss out on the wedding because “they don’t want to be part of that life.”

Meanwhile, royal correspondent Camilla Tominey said that Princess Beatirce is worried that Markle will upstage her on her big day. The bride is aware that if the Sussexes will attend the event, more might be talking about them than her and her groom.

“Obviously they have to invite them [Prince Harry and Markle], but they’re going to be worried. There’s no reason why they wouldn’t go, they are still family. But as the bride, she might be worried by a bit of upstaging,” Tominey said.

Meanwhile, an insider said that if Princess Beatrice would have it her way, she would not invite Prince Harry and Markle. There is reportedly tension between the Sussexes and the princesses of York when Markle allegedly announced her pregnancy on Princess Eugenie’s wedding day.
