Rob Kardashian may be “considering” checking into a rehabilitation facility after the shooting death of his friend rapper Chinx Drugz over the weekend, Radar Online reported Wednesday, citing a source. Another report stated that Rob has signed up for a two-month stay at a rehab facility in Delray Beach, Florida, over an alleged substance and alcohol abuse.

According to Radar Online, it has been difficult for Rob to cope up with the death of Chinx, who was best known for his affiliation with French Montana's Coke Boys group and record label. Chinx reportedly died in a drive-by shooting in New York on Sunday. Born Lionel Pickens, the 31-year-old rapper was reportedly shot by a gunman, who has not yet been identified, while he was sitting in his car.

“It really was a huge wakeup call to both him and Khloe [Kardashian],” the source told Radar Online, adding: “Rob was very close friends with Chinx.”

The source also reportedly said that Rob “has been trying really hard lately to get his life back together. Harder than he has in a very long time.” The Kardashian clan has been reportedly urging him to get treatment. “They also realize that they have neglected Rob and it is something they are all really trying to change,” the source reportedly said.

“He doesn’t want to die like Chinx did and we are all hoping that this will be the catalyst to force him into treatment,” the source added.

Rob, 28, and his sister, Khloe, were on lockdown following Chinx’s murder as both of them were scared.

“Of course they are increasing the security surrounding Khloe and Rob,” a source told Radar Online on Tuesday. “Their house is on lockdown” and “aside from upping the security at the home they share, Khloe has also hired several more bodyguards," the source added.

Chinx had made an appearance at Club Red Wolf in Brooklyn just hours before he was shot dead. He was reportedly with his companion, Antar Alziadi, 27, who suffered gunshot wounds in the incident but survived.

An investigation is underway into Chinx’s death and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
