Carlos Santana announced his upcoming shows in Las Vegas shows will be canceled due to a recent "unscheduled heart procedure."

The 10-time Grammy winner took to his Twitter page to explain his condition and shared that he was planning to rest for a while until he is ready to face the audience once more.

The "Maria, Maria" artist was supposed to perform on eight dates this month at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, according to Rolling Stone.

"Santana has canceled all December 2021 at the House of Blues Las Vegas as he recovers from an unscheduled heart procedure. We look forward to returning to perform at the House Of Blues in January 2022," the rock icon's official Twitter page posted, along with a video in which the musician revealed his intention to take a short break from music to focus on his health.

"I just wanted to share with you some clarity with what's been going on with my physicality. Some rumors are going on in here about this and that so I’m just here to crystallize and make it clear. Last Saturday, I had an incident where my wife needed to send me to the hospital because I had this thing happening in my chest," he said.

"So when we went there, we found we need to take care of it. So I'm gonna be taking time out for a little bit and make sure I replenish and I rest and catch up with my health so that when I play for you, I will play like I used to. I will give you my 150%. I hope you and your family are enjoying good health and peace of mind," he continued.

Michael Vrionis, president of Universal Tone Management, told Billboard that the "Smooth" guitarist underwent an "unscheduled heart procedure," but did not elaborate further.

"Carlos is doing fantastic and is anxious to be back on stage soon," Vrionis said in a statement sent to Billboard. "He profoundly regrets that this 'speed bump' necessitated the cancellation of his upcoming performances."
