After testing positive for COVID-19, Rudy Giuliani said he is “feeling good” at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington D.C.

Giuliani tweeted about his recovery on Sunday night, saying that, “I’m getting great care and feeling good. Recovering quickly and keeping up with everything.”

Andrew Giuliani, his son, also shared a health update on his father's condition. On Twitter, he wrote, “My Dad @RudyGiuliani is resting, getting great care and feeling well. Thank you to all the friends who have reached out concerned about his well being.”

It is unclear exactly when Giuliani, 76, tested positive for COVID-19 as his colleague, Jenna Ellis, said he “tested negative twice immediately preceding his trip to Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia.” Giuliani has been traveling the past two weeks defending President Trump’s claims that voter fraud occurred during the presidential election.

During this time, he was seen hugging supporters and attending indoor hearings for hours at a time without a mask, which has raised concerns that he could have infected hundreds of people, The Daily Mail reports.

His exact condition or treatment is unknown.

The news of Giuliani’s positive coronavirus test caused the entire Arizona state legislature to close this week under the Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines, but was deemed “absolutely unnecessary” and an “excuse” by the former New York City mayor’s team.

An email, written by Senate Chief of Staff Wendy Baldo, and obtained by the Arizona Capitol Times said the Senate would be closed “due to COVID-19 concerns and out of an abundance of caution.”

The House will also close, The Daily Mail reported.

Ellis also said that “no legislators in any state or members of the press are on the contract tracing list, under current CDC guidelines.” Giuliani was also not experiencing virus symptoms at the time, according to Ellis.

Trump also tweeted about Giuliani’s COVID-19 diagnosis, saying, “@RudyGiuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus. Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!”

While Giuliani’s COVID-19 treatment was unknown at the time of writing, Trump was given Remdesivir after testing positive for the virus in October, along with zinc and vitamin D supplements and Pepcid and melatonin, the Daily Mail said.
