  • Shiba Inu lead developer's new tease has the community speculating it could be an NBA partnershib
  • Milkshake and Kraken joined in and dropped a few hints
  • SHIB was trading down 10.09% at $0.00001029

The Shiba Inu development team has several projects under way, but a new tease from its pseudonymous lead developer Shytoshi Kusama may hint at a potentially new partnership with an NBA team, a sponsorship or a new project related to basketball.

It could be another project the team is working hard to develop to send the dog-themed meme coin to the moon, something that its loyal army of followers have been patiently waiting for.

The tease was made on Shiba Inu Discord by Kusama when they said, "For THREE. #hint." After the cryptic message, the lead developer disappeared from Discord and did not offer any follow-up explanation.

While the tease could be anything, several indicators seemingly point to what Kusama was teasing about. For instance, ShibaKraken, a member of the Defence Breed who previously accurately predicted Kusama's hint about CK1, posted the word "3PEAT" on Twitter just a few minutes after the lead developer's tease and changed their profile picture on the micro-blogging site to Numbuh 3, a character in "Kids Next Door."

Moreover, ShibaKraken shared a GIF of Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors with the hashtag "for three." It became a lot more interesting when ShibaInuArt, also known as Milkshake in the community, posted a Kobe Bryant GIF on Shiba Inu Discord, as shared by Shiba Inu influencer GossipShib.

Kusama's hint, "For Three," offers a wide array of possibilities but looking at Milkshake and Kraken's posts suggested it has something to do with NBA or basketball. The term For Three in basketball is what the announcer says when a player baskets a ball from three-point territory.

On the other hand, 3PEAT is a basketball slang that means a team won three consecutive championship victories. In the history of the NBA, only three teams have this record: the Boston Celtics, The Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls.

With the development team mum about anything related to upcoming Shiba Inu projects, everything about a basketball partnershib or basketball-related project is just speculation. The team welcomed this week industry veterans Sherri Cuono and Marcie Jastrow as new members of "Shib: The Metaverse" team.

SHIB was trading down 10.09% at $0.00001029, with a 24-hour volume of $521,534,645, as of 1:58 a.m. ET on Friday, data from CoinMarketCap showed.
