Spider-Man is now a British Academy Award winner. It’s not often that superheroes are recognized at awards shows, but the BAFTAs have one award that the public votes for: the EE rising star. Tom Holland won the statue this year after his breakout role in “Captain America: Civil War.”

Holland had some pretty stiff competition from actors who have received a lot more love from awards shows this season. Lucas Hedges from “Manchester by the Sea” and Ruth Negga from “Loving” lost to Holland, but they still have the Oscars to look forward to. Anya Taylor-Joy, who was in the film “Victoria,” and Laia Costa, who was recognized for her debut film “The Witch,” were also in the category.

Holland took the stage at Royal Albert Hall in London to accept his award. The actor decided to spend his speech thanking two acting coaches. See his speech below:

Holland joins the ranks of many other great actors to receive the rising star BAFTA. John Boyega, Tom Hardy, Kristen Stewart and James McAvoy are among the other 10 winners.

The actor flew back to his home country specifically for the BAFTAs, where Prince William and Kate Middleton watched him accept his award. On Friday night, he was filming his role in “Avengers: Infinity War” in Atlanta. He did a Facebook Live video with Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, to confirm that he is in the movie.

Most of Holland’s upcoming projects involve the Spidey suit. He is set to star in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” in July, “Infinity War” in 2018 and another “Spider-Man” movie in 2019.

Despite successfully playing one of the most famous superheroes, Holland still gets nervous. His father, author Dominic Holland, revealed on Twitter that his 20-year-old son was dealing with pre-show nerves, but his mother would likely be worse.

The BAFTA Awards air in the U.S. Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on BBC America.
