Sri Lankan Man Swallows Live 2-Foot Cobra [VIDEO]

Sword swallowers have nothing on this guy.

A 50-year-old Sri Lankan man swallowed a 2-foot live cobra – one of the world’s deadliest snakes -- in front of a group of onlookers in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The video released by CNN shows the daredevil tilting his head back while slowly feeding the reptile into his throat inch-by-inch with the help of an assistant and then pulling the snake back out just as its head reached the man’s mouth.

Both the man and the snake appeared calm during the stunt in the Sri Lankan’s attempt to break a world record by swallowing two cobras consecutively.

The man said he had to be careful not to ingest any of the cobra’s venom. No sources have confirmed if the man broke the world record.
