Unless you’re a major DC Comics fan, you probably don’t recognize every single character in “Suicide Squad.” The new action movie teams up a bunch of bad guys as a last resort to take down an even more evil force. While the Joker is iconic, other villains in the film aren’t household names yet. Before heading to see the movie, which opens Friday, check out whom you’ll be seeing on the big screen:

Deadshot (Will Smith) — Assassin Floyd Lawton is the leader of the Suicide Squad. He’s a gunman who never misses his target. He agrees to join Amanda Waller’s (Viola Davis) team in order to see his daughter again. Though he doesn’t care much about humanity as a whole, he desperately wants to be a good dad.

Diablo (Jay Hernandez) — This villain doesn’t embrace his dark side. Diablo can create fire, but the problem is controlling it. When he’s angry, the pyrotechnics get out of control. Diablo needs a little more incentive to get him to leave his jail cell in “Suicide Squad.”

Slipknot (Adam Beach) — This escape artist is totally ready to take up Amanda Waller’s offer to get out of jail. He’s a master at getting out of places. He uses ropes that he designed to climb anything and everything.

Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) — The Aussie isn’t really a team player. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself, so don’t expect him to make any unnecessary sacrifices. The criminal is in jail for a recent diamond heist. As his name indicates, he really likes using boomerangs.

Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) — Not everyone started out with evil intentions. After developing crocodile-like skin, Killer Croc joined the circus and started wrestling crocodiles. But once he developed some cannibalistic desires, he retreated into the sewers.

Katana (Karen Fukuhara) — This member of the Squad wasn’t exactly a criminal either. She’s a samurai looking to avenge the death of her husband. She even uses the sword that killed him (the legend is that the soul-taker’s sword holds the spirits of those it killed). Katana is loyal to Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) who brings the samurai in after he decides that he can’t trust a team of straight-up criminals.

Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) — Harleen Frances Quinzel was living a normal life as a psychiatrist — until she had to treat the Joker (Jared Leto). She fell for the green-haired villain, and the two became a criminal power couple.

Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) — She isn’t exactly a member of the Squad, but she is the one who convinces Waller’s bosses to create the team. Archaeologist June Moone is possessed by the Enchantress, and she never knows when the evil witch will takeover her body.
