Love is in the air for the Joker and Harley Quinn. In a new set photo from the forthcoming film “Suicide Squad,” the two supervillains are seen sharing a kiss. In the shot shared by News.com.au, Harley can be seen holding the Joker close to her face as she gives him a kiss. However, soon after sharing the passionate moment, the Joker slaps Harley.

It seems that it will be not be a smooth ride for Harley and the Joker’s love story in director David Ayer’s forthcoming film. The role of Joker is being played by Jared Leto and Margot Robbie is playing Harley Quinn. According to the comics, Harley is Joker’s girlfriend.

Moreover, this is reportedly the first time that Leto can be seen in full costume as the Joker. He appears to be wearing green hair and has his face painted white. He is wearing a gray coat and black trousers and seems to have blazing red lips.

He also appears to have tattoos on his body. According to IGN, Leto’s character will sport tattoos all over his body and the set photos also show the much talked-about damaged tattoo on his forehead. Leto has undergone a lot of preparation in order to play the role of the famous villain. He has bleached his hair and has also bulked up his body. "I’m trying to gain a lot of weight. It means I have to eat every couple of hours -- and I’m terrible at eating a lot,” he told Billboard.

Leto has also compared the Joker to a character in a Shakespeare play. “The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character -- that’s what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right? [He’s] this beautiful disaster of a character -- what a big challenge,” Leto told an interviewer.

“Suicide Squad" is currently being shot in Toronto. Its scheduled release date is Aug 5, 2016.
