Tesla Inc. made over 11,000 deliveries of its Model 3 sedan in the Netherlands this month, breaking a previous record in the country in September. The Netherlands is ending some electric vehicle incentives at the end of the year, which may be the reason behind Tesla’s strong performance this month.

The sales make the Netherlands Tesla’s biggest market in Europe. Tesla owns several factory buildings in the Dutch city of Tilburg.

Tesla is gaining popularity across Europe and became the top-selling auto brand in Norway in June.

The California-based company is hoping to better target European markets by opening up a factory in Berlin, which aims to produce 500,000 vehicles a year.

European countries, such as Germany, are expanding their subsidies for consumers to buy electric vehicles, which could boost demand for Tesla cars.

Tesla is also expanding in other international markets, with the company delivering its first vehicles made at its Gigafactory in the Chinese city of Shanghai. The electric automaker delivered a record 97,000 cars during the third quarter of 2019.

Tesla expects total vehicle delivery this year to be between 360,000 and 400,000 vehicles.
