It's only fair you get a cheat day after winning a record fifth Super Bowl ring. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady — a man who shuns strawberries and nightshade vegetables with religious zeal, let alone alcohol — recently downed some red wine, according to a video Thursday from the NFL franchise.

The Patriots posted a video to Twitter featuring Brady and the team's owner Robert Kraft. The six-second clip showed the two men pouring a glass of Doubleback 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon accompanied with the text, "Hey @DrewBledsoe, look who's celebrating with @doublebackwine!"

Doubleback Vineyard in Walla Walla, Washington, was started by Bledsoe, a star Patriots quarterback in his own right, who will forever be remembered for being replaced by Brady. It's somewhat of a departure for Brady to partake in something that's marginally unhealthy, even if it was made by his former teammate. The 39-year-old, now widely considered the greatest quarterback ever, described to ABC News last year how he largely avoids alcohol because of its sugar content.

"I have to make different choices, there's no other 39-year-olds playing now at quarterback. So, you better do things a little differently," he said. "I try to not eat as much sugar, but it's so hard in our American diet to do that. ... It's hard to completely avoid. I don't drink much alcohol."

He did note, however, that he would make an exception to the alcohol rule for Super Bowl celebrations. Still, even in the midst of the Lombardi Trophy glow, Brady mostly downs health-conscious drinks. A profile of the quarterback last month in Sports Illustrated's MMQB noted that in a single interview he chugged some 45 ounces Vitamin Water intermingled with the contents of a bottle labeled "TB12 Electrolytes."

Brady's peculiar and strict diet, while pushing out sugar, also forbids white flour, dairy and the aforementioned nightshade vegetables like peppers, mushrooms and eggplants. He's also never eaten a single strawberry or taken even a small slurp of coffee. Most decisions, including what to eat and drink, are made with the next football game in mind.

"Other than playing football,” Brady said to MMQB, "the other thing I love to do is prepare to play football."

With that in mind, it's worth noting that while the Patriots' tweet implied Brady had a little wine, the video did not actually show the quarterback partaking.
