  • Perez Hilton implied that Prince William is competing with Prince Harry with his new book
  • Hilton joked that it was a worthy enterprise and hoped Prince Harry would buy a copy of the book
  • Twitter users defended Prince William by saying his book is completely different from Prince Harry's

Prince William got the support of several Twitter users after news broke that he is also working on a book like his younger brother, Prince Harry.

The Duke of Cambridge is co-authoring "Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet" with Colin Butfield and Jonnie Hughes. The Duke of Cambridge will only be writing the introduction of the book, but many immediately compared him to his younger brother because they believe he is competing with the Duke of Sussex.

"Look, we know the royal brothers are feuding, but to have competing books, too?? This is getting ridiculous!" American blogger and columnist Perez Hilton wrote. "Sounds like a worthy enterprise for sure — and one that Harry could get behind, as an environmentalist himself. Nothing brings families together like impending climate apocalypses, huh? We hope he picks up a copy!"

Hilton shared his article on Twitter and wrote, "Prince William has his OWN book coming out!! Right after Prince Harry announced his tell-all, LOL!"

Several fans immediately came to Prince William's defense. For them, there should be no comparison in the first place because the royal siblings are working on completely different books.

"He's writing a [foreword] for a book about the planet....not giving away family secrets. No comparison to what Harry is doing," one commented.

"Damn Perez, the books are not same one is a [foreword] to a book whilst the other is a memoir stating his truth," another opined.

"Perez, you know perfectly well one is an expose’ and one is a mere introduction to someone else’s book. So there was no need for you to twist the truth in your headline. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should," a third user added.

Several users also approved of Prince William's upcoming project. For them, his involvement in the "Earthshot" book is incredible for a future king. Others said his book is going to be better than Prince Harry's.

"The book that William will write the introduction will have more substance and credibility!" one wrote.

"How to saved [sic] our planet. Contrast with a book about destroying your family," another commented.

"Prince William is taking on the important issues of the day, from racism to global warming. Prince William is a sane voice in a troubled world," a different netizen added.

Prince William's "Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet" is "a book of action and optimism to save our planet." It will be published before the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in London in October.
