  • Nickal is reportedly transitioning from wrestling to MMA
  • Covington blasts Masvidal and claimed that their beef is real

UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal works on his striking with a wrestling national champion amid Colby Covington fight talks.

Top welterweight contender Masvidal has been keen on his desire to get paid accordingly after an impressive back-to-back winning stint over Nate Diaz and Ben Askren. He is already touted as the next opponent of current UFC welterweight champ Kamaru Usman. As part of his preparation for the possible title fight, Masvidal works on improving his striking with the help of Bo Nickal of the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Nickal is a three-time wrestling National Champion who has plans of a quick transition into MMA. Late last year, Nickal announced his partnership with American Top Team to open up an MMA gym at Penn State. One of Nickal’s newest assignments was to train with Masvidal, who recently tweeted out a photo of them with fellow Penn State National Champion Anthony Cassar, who won the heavyweight title in 2019.

“Working on my striking with @NoBickal and some big dude #andnew #theresurrection #frm #att,” Masvidal tweeted.

As Masvidal continues to better his game, another top welterweight contender Covington presented his case as “Gamebred’s” next opponent. While Convington is currently being linked to WWE, the UFC star wants people to know that his beef with Masvidal also applies outside the sport.

In a recent appearance on “What the Heck” (via MMA Fighting) , a fired-up Covington called-out Masvidal, whom he referred to as “Street Jesus,” and vowed that if they ever meet in the streets or anywhere outside the octagon, all hell will break lose.

“Me and Street Judas are 100 percent gonna fight before it’s all said and done. We might fight a couple of times, because if I see him in the street, it’s gonna be a fade session. He’s gonna get put on the concrete, I’m gonna drop him on his f*ckin’ head and put stitches in the back of his head. It’s not gonna be nice, I promise you that,” Covington vowed.

“Chaos” went even more expletive and claimed that Masvidal will never be the same person again after he dropped his head on the street concrete.

“And he knows that, deep down inside he knows. But he’s willing to take a paycheck in the UFC to get his ass whupped because he knows the UFC is gonna pay his f*cking medical bills. Besides that, if we fight on the street, I’m gonna drop him on his f*cking head, and he’s never gonna be the same person again because he’s gonna be concussed. the concrete’s gonna mess with him ,” he added.
