“This Is Us” star Ryan Michelle Bathe is the newest addition to the cast of FOX’s upcoming sitcom, “Linda From HR.”

According to TV Line, the role was originally given to “ER” alum Angel Laketa Moore. Moore was supposed to play the role of Sierra, but the part was ultimately given to Bathe after the cast’s first table read. Sierra is a mother of young triplets and is also the sidekick of Linda (Lauren Graham). Linda, on the other hand, is an HR employee who will make a bad decision that could change her life forever.

“Linda From HR” is penned by up-and-coming writers Itai Grunfeld and Geoff Barbanell. The show’s executive producers include Tracy Katsky, Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor. Marc Buckland will serve as director for the half-hour, single-camera project. Other cast members include “Lucifer” guest star Tim DeKay and “Happy Endings” star Zachary Knighton.

Meanwhile, Bathe stars in the hit drama “This Is Us” as the mother of young Randall’s (Lonnie Chaves) friend, Yvette. Bathe appears in the flashbacks since Randall is already a grownup in the present timeline. Initially, Bathe’s character, Yvette, did not get along well with Randall’s adoptive mom, Rebecca (Mandy Moore).

In one of the scenes at the swimming pool, Rebecca had a hard time looking for Randall who separated from his family to make friends. When Rebecca found him, she urged him to leave his newfound friends. Yvette looked at Rebecca judgingly because the latter looked so much different from her son. Later on, the two moms got to talking and immediately hit it off so their children became the best of friends.

Bathe has also appeared in several other TV shows, namely, “Army Wives,” “Girlfriends” and “Boston Legal.”
