"Valheim" is the latest survival game that's taking Steam on fire. With the surge in popularity, the game is attracting a lot of interest. For players who are just new to the game and wondering how to properly catch, tame and breed boars and wolves, this guide might come in handy.

Players who can tame animals, particularly wolves and boars, can do a lot of things in "Valheim." By taming these animals, players can breed wolves and boars to serve their biddings. The wolves can become pelts while boars are a good source of leather and food.

The most interesting part of taming these animals is that players can have them fight on their side. But, just like all other things in the game, players have to invest a significant amount of time and effort to tame these animals. There are instances where players could not breed boars or wolves only to find out that they missed doing one simple part of taming and breeding.

How To Catch, Tame And Breed Boars

Players need to build a pen first to attract the boars and eventually close them in. To build a pen, players can either use Roundpole Fences and build a door or leave a hole. When the pen is ready, players can lure the boars by either provoking them to attack and allowing them to chase up to the enclosure or giving them food. The taming actually starts when players have the boars in the enclosure.

Feeding them blackberries, mushrooms, carrots and raspberries regularly is the key. Players should avoid starving them for a long time. To feed the boars, players have to throw the food within the enclosure and move away so the boars could start eating. Going too far from the enclosure will also affect the taming. If players tame more than one boar and place them in the same enclosure, they will breed if they feed on carrots.

How To Catch, Tame And Breed Wolves

Taming wolves in "Valheim" is the same as taming boars with some little changes. Unlike boars, players need to go to where they spawn, which is in the Mountain biome. When going there, players must bring an anti-frost potion or build a path of campfires because the location is freezing.

Players should then build a pen using Stakewalls and use raw meat to lure the wolves into the enclosure. When the wolves are trapped, players should regularly feed them raw meat by throwing the meat inside. They breed in the same way boars breed. When the wolves are tamed, they will start following the players around. When they run into an enemy, they can attack them and fight on the player's side.
