  • Iron Gate earlier released the patch notes of the latest "Valheim" update
  • The notes reveal several changes in the game
  • The latest "Valheim" update rolls out significant improvement to the game's dedicated server latency

Game developer Iron Gate released another patch for its hit survival game "Valheim" earlier today. The latest patch brings significant changes to dedicated servers, lowering latency to a remarkable extent. Here are other issues that the latest patch targets to fix and improve.

The newest patch rolled out on "Valheim" features a host of major changes to the way dedicated servers operate. Instead of using Steam Datagram Relay (SDR), dedicated servers now use direct connections with the new patch. The developer believes that this change should lower latency for most players.

That's aside from the effort Valve is currently putting on to fix the SDR system. A beta Steam client is now available that apparently fixes these issues. Additionally, players can now enable private dedicated servers by pressing "-public 0" on the server command line. Players can join private dedicated servers by using the Join IP button.

The new patch also aims to ease some of the connection issues that resulted from last week's patch. Players will also notice in-game changes courtesy of the latest patch. This includes the smoother animation on "Valheim's" vendor Haldor and the puke-effect of Bonemass, which is now fixed. There is also a fix for players who still bring items just as they get into portals.

Interestingly, devs are also privy to the frequency of tamed wolves' procreation. With the latest patch, these wolves will no longer produce quite as many cubs. Some issues like "network players flying through the air when entering dungeons and exiting portals" are now fixed. The full patch notes are now out, with some of the localization updates available below.

* Made Haldor head-turn smoother

* Object network interpolation is skipped if an object was far away, solved an issue with network players flying through the air when entering dungeons & exiting portals, etc

* Added -public 1/0 flag to the dedicated server again, Allows players to host local LAN only servers

* Join IP-button updated to allow for lan-connections (dedicated servers only) & added DNS support

* Dedicated servers use directIP connection instead of SDR, solves issues with slow steam relays in some areas of the world

* Bonemass puke-effect network fix
