Victoria's Secret Will Return To New York For Anniversary Show
Victoria’s Secret has revealed where its next fashion show will be held. The lingerie brand will host its highly anticipated 20th anniversary fashion show in New York later this year. The runway extravaganza will return to the city where its first fashion show was held in 1995, according to People.
“The 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will be held in New York City,” said Sharen Jester Turney, the brand’s chief executive officer, adding that the Big Apple is particularly special for the models and the brand. The brand witnessed a hectic few months after it was revealed that angels Doutzen Kroes and Karlie Kloss had quit the brand.
At last year’s runway show in London, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and Hozier took to the stage for a musical extravaganza. The star-studded event saw fashionistas like Olivia Palermo, Ellie Goulding sitting in the front row. Models from Kloss to Candice Swanepoel stormed the runway.
The catwalk presentation also marked another first for Victoria's Secret, as the brand unveiled two fantasy bras. Angels Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosia modeled the two $4 million bras, made up of 16,000 gems, including rubies, sapphires and diamonds. The roster of Angels has jumped from five to 15. The new Angel lineup includes Kate Grigorieva, Taylor Hill, Elsa Hosk, Martha Hunt, Jac Jagaciak, Stella Maxwell, Lais Ribeiro, Sara Sampaio, Romee Strijd and Jasmine Tookes. They will be joined by the pros like Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Lily Aldridge and Lindsay Ellingson. It has been rumored that Lima and Ambrosio are retiring.
This year the brand's fans will miss some familiar faces, like Kloss and Kroes. Since its inception two decades ago, the Victoria’s Secret runway extravaganza has been held in various cities -- like Los Angeles, Miami and Cannes -- in addition to London and New York.
