As the mystery behind the circumstances surrounding the death of Kenneka Jenkins deepens, her family is waiting for answers from police as how the 19-year-old ended up in a hotel freezer.

On Monday, Jenkins family held a press conference where her mother alleged her daughter's death was an "inside job."

Police confirmed that Jenkins was found dead inside a walk-in freezer at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel and Conference Center in Rosemont early Sunday after she was reported missing by her family members.

An initial autopsy could not determine the cause of death. Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said it could take weeks to determine the cause of death.

After the discovery of Jenkins body, police told the family that Jenkins was likely so drunk that she stumbled into the walk-in freezer. However, the grieving family disputed the claim.

“The freezer door is heavy. So there’s no way. If they’re saying she’s drunk, she don’t have no strength,” Jenkins’ sister, Leonore Harris, told WGN-TV. “If she had enough strength to open that freezer door, she would have had enough strength to walk straight.”

Jenkins mother, Tereasa Martin, also said she did not believe her daughter walked into the freezer because she was intoxicated. Martin also questioned a Facebook live video posted from the hotel the night Jenkins died. Police is currently investigating the video.

Martin said one of her daughter's "good friends" is seen in the video, which has now gone viral on social media.

“I have an idea that something might have happened,” she said. “I believe it was foul play involved.”

Community activist Andrew Holmes, who was present with Martin at the press conference, described the video that police said they came across during the course of their investigation.

“You can see some images in the other young lady’s glasses and you can also hear some of the background that’s in there,” he said. “And the young lady with the glasses, she needs to come forward too, cause everyone in there is a suspect—it’s just as a simple as that.”

“Best friend, no friend, you’re a suspect, you was in there, just come forward,” Holmes said, urging anyone with information regarding the case to come forward. “You was happy enough to put yourself on Facebook, now be happy enough to come over here and tell these detectives what happened.”

Since the teenager was found dead, several rumors have been circulating about her death. Some Twitter users claimed that Jenkins' “friends” allegedly allowed to her be raped and eventually killed while she was at a party Friday. Some also claimed that Jenkins’ friends sold her for money.

Some reports said Sunday that a video showed the teenager allegedly being raped. In the video, the teen can reportedly be heard saying, “Help me.” A different clip, which was seemingly recorded by the same person, reportedly caught a male saying, “We’re about to murder somebody.”

Amid the theories about Jenkins' death, the teenager's family did not address the rumors about her being allegedly raped and killed.

The teenager's mother has set up a GoFundMe account for her daughter’s investigation and funeral.

“This is a page set up for Kenneka Jenkins to help get justice for my baby girl,” she wrote. “As many of you may know, On Sunday morning, Neka was found dead in a walk in freezer at Crowne Point Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. We believe there is more to the story. Since this is still under investigation, there isn’t much I can say. The donations will cover funeral cost arrangements, also to help with the investigation. Anything helps. Help me get justice for her! God Bless.”
