Jay-Z dropped his new album, 4:44 , Friday and fans have been clamoring to listen to the latest from the Brooklyn native. Unfortunately, the album currently resides exclusively on Tidal, the music streaming service Jay-Z launched back in 2015.

For those who want to pop in their earbuds hear 4:44 —and want to avoid any option that may be illegal—there are two options: give it a listen on Tidal or wait until the album eventually gets a wider release and comes to other streaming platforms.

Unfortunately for those who are willing to give the album a listen on Tidal, it’s not as easy as just signing up and hitting play. The streaming service has an exclusive deal with mobile carrier Sprint, so only subscribers to that network and existing Tidal users will be able to hear the 10-track effort from the most influential rapper alive.

For those who have stuck it out with Tidal over alternative streaming services, 4:44 is the type of exclusive you’ve been waiting for. So once you’ve had the chance to give the record a couple spins, you might be ready to get out from that $9.99 monthly subscription fee.

Luckily, canceling Tidal is a relatively painless process.

How To Cancel Tidal Subscription

To unsubscribe from your monthly subscription to Tidal, visit Tidal.com, hit the menu button in the upper right and choose Manage Account. You’ll be prompted to login. Once you’re signed into your account, click on the Subscription option and click Cancel My Subscription. Tidal will prompt you to fill out a survey about your experience and why you decided to cancel.

Once the survey is completed, you will receive confirmation of cancellation. Gone will be the monthly bill—but so too will be your exclusive access to 4:44

Of course, while Jay-Z may do what it takes to support his own service, he’s trying to get his music to the masses—and let’s face it, the masses aren’t using Tidal. 4:44 won’t stay on Tidal exclusively forever.

When Will Jay-Z’s New Album Be On iTunes?

There is no official release date for 4:44 on any platform other than Tidal, but it’s possible to make an educated guess as to when it will appear based on other exclusives that have appeared on the streaming platform before getting a wider release.

Looking at last year’s release of Lemonade, the masterpiece of an album from Jay-Z’s partner Beyoncé, it’s easy to imagine 4:44 showing up on other streaming sites pretty quickly. Lemonade dropped on Tidal on April 23 before debuting on iTunes on April 25, just two days later.

Jay-Z may follow in the footsteps of his better half with 4:44. Variety reported Thursday that Jay-Z’s new record will be on iTunes and Apple Music after a week of Tidal exclusivity—though it’s worth noting he also pulled much of his library from competing streaming services including Apple Music and Spotify earlier this year.
