2016 has been a great year for singer and “American Horror Story” actress Lady Gaga. The 30-year-old singer bagged a Golden Globe award, got an Oscar nomination, won a Grammy award for collaborating with Jazz singer Tony Bennett in “Cheek To Cheek” and gave an amazing Super Bowl performance. Now, the songstress is gearing up for the launch of her single, “Perfect Illusion,” from her fifth studio album, “LG5.”

The singer took to Instagram and Twitter to announce that “Perfect Illusion” will release on Friday, Sept. 9. It is the lead single from her album, “LG5,” which will reportedly release sometime this year. Previously, Gaga had announced that “Perfect Illusion” will drop in September, but hadn’t given Little Monsters a date. Now we know.

Mother Monster had talked about “Perfect Illusion” during an iHeartRadio Music Summit last month in New York. She had said, “The song is about modern ecstasy … We found our sweet, simple, rage-y way of saying it.” She later added, “I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.”

Gaga has collaborated with a number of artists for songs in “LG5.” The Grammy award winner has infused her album with the sounds of Mark Ronson, Giorgio Moroder, RedOne, Diane Warren, Nile Rodgers, Bloodpop (who produced Justin Bieber’s hit song, “Sorry”) and Tame Impala, Entertainment Weekly reports. Furthermore, Elton John and Breedlove are also in Gaga’s new 2016 album.

Gaga, who recently split with fiancé and “Chicago Fire” actor Taylor Kinney, said her new album was inspired by her role in FX’s “AHS.” It reawakened the “art of darkness” within her and she channeled it in her music.

The actress’ previous album, “Artpop,” received mixed reviews.
