Tom Brady has been suspended for four games without pay, and that means the New England Patriots’ backup quarterback is going to get some playing time in the 2015-16 NFL season. Jimmy Garoppolo, a second-round pick in 2014, will be the Patriots' quarterback in Weeks 1, 2, 3 and 5. To get acquainted with Brady’s replacement, here are five thing things about him you should know.

1. How To Pronounce His Last Name:

His last name looks like a tongue twister. It’s pronounced Ga-ROPP-uh-low, NJ.com noted.

2. His Size:

Like Tom Brady, he’s pretty large in stature. The 23-year-old weighs 225 pounds and is 6 feet 2 inches tall.

3. His Stats:

Drafted No. 62 overall in 2014, Garoppalo saw little time on the field in the regular season, completing 19 of 27 passes for 182 yards and one touchdown. His average completion went for 6.7 yards, and his quarterback rating was a highly respectable 101.2.

4. He’s A Great Backup:

"If you look at all that was put on the plate of Jimmy Garoppolo in 2014 -- really the lone backup -- and the opportunities for growth he had throughout the year and the accolades he got from teammates and the coaching staff ... he's the best suited player in the National Football League among backups and nonstarters to go ahead and succeed Tom Brady, if indeed Tom Brady is down for any period of time," Tom E. Curran said on SportsNet Central, reports CSNNE.

5. The Smile:

Sports fans may not care about what the new quarterback looks like when he smiles, but many others, especially women, will swoon when he flashes his pearly whites. Brady is known for his stunning good looks, but Garoppolo himself may give him a run for his money.
