A 19-year-old Colorado woman's body was found north of Denver after she went missing last Thursday, reports said Wednesday.

Authorities said that Natalie Bollinger's death was being investigated as a homicide and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain a mystery. Police are yet to reveal how the woman was killed.

Bollinger's body was found last Friday in a wooded area near a street in unincorporated Adams County, weeks after she obtained a permanent restraining order against a man in mid-December. Police said the man, identified as Shawn Schwartz, was questioned but no arrests has been made so far.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that a passerby found Bollinger's body, and the cause and manner of the death was still under investigation.

Bollinger had made claims on Facebook two weeks ago that she had once tried to help Schwartz, but he then began harassing her. She claimed he had "slept behind her work for weeks" and threatened to kill himself in front of her.

In court documents, Bollinger wrote that Schwartz was calling and texting her while she lived in Colorado. He followed her to Virginia then back to Colorado. She told authorities that Schwartz would stay parked outside her office and also disturb her by honking for over three hours outside her home.

"Natalie, I wanted only the best for you. Now all I want is for you to go through the hell I have lived. I want to blow my head off in front of you so close you can feel the warm spatter of my blood on your face," she wrote in her Facebook post, quoting what Schwartz told her.

Sheriff Mike McIntosh said Wednesday there was no threat to the public despite no suspect being arrested yet.

"Not ready to call anyone at this point a suspect," said Sheriff McIntosh after being asked about the questioning Schwartz.

On his Facebook page, Shawn talked about the interviews police conducted following Bollinger's disappearance.

“We have talked to him, and again, we are not ready to call anybody a suspect, but it’s certainly a piece of our investigation, a piece of our timeline,” McIntosh said.

Bollinger's family issues a statement saying: "Our family has been deeply devastated by this loss and cannot fully express how much we miss our beautiful Natalie. Our hearts are absolutely broken. We will be sure to share with you all, the date and time of her service once those arrangements have been completed."
