Who Is Teyana Taylor? Singer's Rihanna Feud Explodes On Twitter
Some people began to wonder who Teyana Taylor was after the singer’s name began to trend on Tuesday afternoon. Superstar Rihanna supposedly poked fun at the 22-year-old on Instagram, which has caused Twitter chatter about the apparent online feud.
Here are a few things about Taylor, for inquiring minds:
The singer was born and raised in Harlem, New York City and officially signed to The Island Def Jam Music Group and Kanye West’s GOOD Music label in 2013. Before that, she had been with Pharrell Williams’ Star Track Entertainment and Interscope Records.
Aside from singing and rapping, Taylor is also a model and a choreographer. She first appeared on television in 2009 for MTV’s show “My Super Sweet 16,” the same show where “Hunger Games” star and "Silver Linings Playbook" Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence got her start.
The episode shows Taylor contemplating buying expensive sneakers, and years later her penchant for shoes has not subsided. The starlet signed a deal to design and release two sneaker models with Adidas in 2013.
Taylor has since responded to the Instagram post Rihanna put up on Tuesday morning:
She wrote: “Don't play wit me @rihanna f*** all this industry shit, YOU & I know each other VERY well. Throwing subs 4 wat? u got my #, don't show off.”
But the 22-year-old didn’t stop there. "y'all could bully everybody else & get away wit that sh** but that sh** ain't gone work ova here. so y'all could miss me with that NAVY sh**”
“i sing caught in the rapture on IG then she posts her boy singing the same song, the same part, with curly hair and a snap back??? #PETTY,” she continued.
Taylor then changed the background on her Twitter profile by photo shopping her face on a boxer, and the viral photo of Rihanna’s beat-up face after her altercation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. According to posts on Taylor’s Twitter account, Rihanna deleted tweets that were seemingly directed at the New Yorker.
