Fans are totally shipping a Drake and Vanessa Hudgens romance following a flirty exchange at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. The moment quickly spread on social media, becoming a meme and leaving users wondering if something was going on between the “One Dance” rapper and former Disney star.

While there’s no doubt they’d make an adorable couple, Hudgens is taken and has been for some time. She and boyfriend Austin Butler have reportedly been dating for nearly six years. Daily Mail reported that the pair met in 2005 on the set of “High School Musical,” but did not start dating until 2011.

Hudgens and Butler are mostly quiet about their relationship. Though they appear on red carpets and are occasionally spotted out together, Hudgens, 28, and her beau do not often pose for photos on social media together. In fact, the last photo she posted of her and Butler together on Instagram was in March.

Rumors began swirling about Drake, 30, and the songstress dating after he after he gave her a shout out during one of his many acceptance speeches during the BBMas. The Canadian-born musician closed by adding that the show’s co-host looked “incredible tonight.” Cameras then panned to Nicki Minaj, whom Drake revealed he recently reconnected with, who mouthed, “what about me?”

The Queens, New York native later laughed off the situation. She retweeted a fan account joking about the priceless moment, adding several crying laughing emojis. Minaj, 34, said said nothing else about her friendship with Drake though.

In addition to his flirty shout out, Drake made an interesting move on social media. Moments after mentioning Hudgens’ name on stage, he followed her on Instagram and liked one of her photos. Screen grabs revealing this circulated on Twitter, along with speculation about the nature of their relationship.

Hudgens wasn’t the only one Drake was flirting with during the show. While accepting his 13th and final award of the night, Drake brought Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, his father and more up with him to deliver his acceptance speech. It was then that he referred to the “No Frauds” rapper as “the love of my life,” reigniting old rumors suggesting that they’re a couple.

While he may not have emerged victorious in matters of the heart during the BBMAs, Drake left the show a winner. The rapper took home 13 awards, smashing Adele’s previous record for sweeping the show. He made sure to give a shout out to the “Water Under the Bridge” singer after stealing her record, assuring her that she’d be back for the title when her next album drops.

“I wanna say hold tight, Adele, ‘cause when a new ting drops yeah, you’ll fall back to get the record back,” he said (via XXL).

The most esteemed of his awards from Sunday’s show was top artist. Drake beat out Beyonce, Justin Bieber, The Chainsmokers, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, The Weeknd and more in the category.

Hudgens has yet to address Drake’s shout out.
