Most people want to look good on their wedding day, and Blake Shelton is no exception. The “Minimum Wage” singer recently revealed he is planning to lose some weight ahead of his wedding to Gwen Stefani.

During an appearance on the Apple Music radio show “Party Barn Radio With Luke Bryan,” the 44-year-old admitted he wanted to lose some weight for his wedding day and now feels obligated to lose 20 pounds.

“Scale of 1 to 10, Blake Shelton, [will you] you lose 20 pounds for your wedding?” Bryan asked the “Happy Anywhere” singer.

Shelton admitted that he will feel obligated to lose weight if he shares his weight loss goal with the public. “I feel like if I say 10 I have to do it, so 10,” Shelton explained.

“It’s out there now so I can’t let people down,” he added.

Earlier this month, Stefani admitted that she became concerned about the state of her five-year relationship with Shelton because of how long he waited to propose.

“I think he had told my dad on my birthday about two weeks earlier and I gotta tell you, I was sorta like, ‘What's happening with us?’ ... It was kind of in my mind like, ‘We’ve been together a long time now. What’s going on?’” she said during an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”

“I was in that place in my head,” she added.

However, Shelton eventually proposed, and the two shared news about their engagement on Oct. 27 via Instagram.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the couple hasn’t made much progress with their wedding plans, but following Shelton’s interview, it appears he’s already preparing himself for the big day.
