The long-awaited name of Kim Kardashian’s baby has been revealed. Kanye West and his reality-star girlfriend have named their baby North West. That’s right, she’s named after a direction. Do they want this child to get teased?

Twitter is having a field day with the release of the celebrity baby name. Just minutes after TMZ broke the news, North West became a trending topic on the social media site.

It’s a little surprising Kardashian decided to break from the family tradition. She and all her sisters' names start with K, and considering she’s close with her mother, most thought she would want to follow in her footsteps.

A source who recently spoke to Us Weekly told the magazine, "They're not quite ready to announce the name yet … But the name definitely does not start with a K, despite all the rumors that have been out."

But baby North will be in good company. First cousin Penelope doesn’t have the infamous initial either.

No one from the Kardashian or West camp has publicly confirmed the news, but TMZ claims the birth certificate where baby Kimye was born, at Cedars-Sinai in L.A., reads "North West."

The name North West first began to circulate in March, with even Kardashian commenting on the offbeat name. According to The Sun, an insider told the British magazine it would go well with the baby's surname, that West had come up with the name during Paris Fashion Week.
