Even before Season 3 of “Fear The Walking Dead” premiered on TV, AMC has already revealed the fate of the apocalypse series. “The Walking Dead” spin-off will be back next year with a fourth season. The network has renewed the show.

AMC announced the good news on Friday and also shared that a new a pair of co-showrunners will take the reins. The series’ current showrunner, Dave Erickson, is stepping down after the third season’s filming ends in order to focus on other projects for AMC Studios. Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg will replace Erickson in Season 4.

Moreover, Scott M. Gimple, the showrunner and executive producer of “The Walking Dead,” will become an executive producer of “Fear The Walking Dead” in Season 4.

“We are thrilled to be joining ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ and couldn’t be more excited to work alongside the wonderful team at AMC on this show,” said Chambliss and Goldberg in a statement. “We love this universe and are truly honored to have the chance to contribute to it.”

The series, which tells the story of the world right after a global zombie outbreak, has significantly dropped in ratings since its debut. The series premiere, according to TVLine, drew a whooping 10 million viewers. However, the Season 2 finale managed to rake in only three million viewers. Despite the decrease in viewership, it still continues to be one of the top shows on cable.

Season 3 premieres June 4 and picks up right where Season 2 left off. Luciana (Danay Garcia) is still struggling to survive after she was shot by a militia dressed in America army uniforms on the U.S.-Mexico border. Nick (Frank Dillane) was rendered unconscious by the same group. However, while they are certainly alive in the Season 3 premiere, it isn’t clear how they will get out of this mess.

Meanwhile, Madison (Kim Dickens) is finally reunited with her partner Travis (Cliff Curtis) after being separated for some time. Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) will be fractured after killing Andres (Raul Casso).

Victor (Colman Domingo), on the other hand, has set his sights on harnessing the new world’s currency.

Ofelia (Mercedes Mason) will have to muster the savagery of her father if she wants to escape captivity.

“FTWD” Season 3 premieres Sunday, June 4 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
