As Felicity Huffman’s court date nears, she was spotted spending some time together with her husband William H. Macy. Huffman pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and mail fraud charges in the college entrance exam cheating scandal for paying $15,000 for her daughter to have an unlimited amount of time to take the SAT test.

Following the guilty plea, Huffman and Macy have stayed out of the public eye until Wednesday when they were spotted out hiking with a friend in Los Angeles, the Daily Mail reported. Huffman, 56, and Macy, 69 each got in some exercise, looking relaxed with each other as they hiked along the trails.

Rumors about the couple divorcing amid the scandal have surfaced, but as was previously reported, Macy is standing by Huffman as she faces four to 10 months behind bars if convicted. A source told Radar Online that Macy is “heartbroken” by the news but is supporting his wife all the same.

During their day of hiking, Huffman was dressed in a light blue zip-up shirt paired with black leggings and a pink baseball cap. Macy wore a long-sleeved white shirt and black shorts complimented by a black baseball cap.

Huffman has since apologized for her involvement in the college cheating scheme saying, “I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community. I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly.

"My daughter knew absolutely nothing about my actions, and in my misguided and profoundly wrong way, I have betrayed her. This transgression toward her and the public I will carry for the rest of my life. My desire to help my daughter is no excuse to break the law or engage in dishonesty.”

Huffman is scheduled to appear in court for her plea hearing on May 21.
