“12 Monkeys” actor Aaron Stanford has entered his 40s. The handsome Syfy star turned 40 years old on Tuesday, Dec. 27. He certainly doesn’t look his age!
Although several fans of Stanford, who plays time traveler James Cole on the series, know that he starred in “X2” and “X-Men: The Last Stand” as Pyro, there are still some things that even his most loyal followers don’t know. Here are three facts about Stanford that you probably didn’t know:
1. He Had A Guest Role In AMC’s “Mad Men”
Stanford had a guest role in critically acclaimed AMC series “Mad Men.” He played Horace Cook Jr. in Season 3 in an episode that aired on May 14, 2013. His character had lunch with advertising honchos Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and Vincent Kartheiser (Pete Campbell).
2. He’s Worked With Sigourney Weaver, Zoey Deschanel And Kristen Stewart
Stanford’s first major movie role was in indie film “Tadpole” for which he earned a nomination for the Golden Satellite Award. In this movie, he starred opposite “Aliens” actress Sigourney Weaver. He also starred in 2007’s “Flakes” opposite “New Girl” lead Zoey Deschanel and worked with “Twilight” actress Kirsten Stewart in “The Cake Eaters.”
3. His Elder Brother Is A Musician
His older brother David Stanford is a musician and composer, according to Imdb.

Last season of “12 Monkeys” ended with Cassie (Amanda Schull) being kidnapped by the Army of the 12 Monkeys and sent to 2163. There, she learned a shocking discovery: The Witness is her and Cole’s unborn child. Trapped in Titan, a city that can splinter to any time period, Cassie is faced with a bleak future.
Meanwhile, Cole was left behind in 2043 and Jennifer Goines (Emily Hampshire) accidentally splintered to 1917 France.
“12 Monkeys” Season 3 premieres sometime in 2017.
