12-Year-Old Girl Suffering From 'Stomach Pain' Gives Birth, Turns Out Brother Raped Her

A 12-year-old girl, who was rushed to a hospital after complaining of stomach pain, delivered a child soon after. Further investigation revealed that she was raped by her 14-year-old brother at their family home.

A U.K. court heard during a sentencing hearing Monday that the girl was just 11 when the rape happened in 2019, Wales Online reported. The boy, now 16-years-old, has pleaded guilty to rape.

Prosecutor Georgina Buckley told Swansea Crown Court that the incident came to light when the girl was rushed to the hospital following severe stomach pain. She delivered a child within hours. A midwife who attended her asked her whether she has had sex. To this, the girl said she didn't know.

The midwife asked the girl whether she had "consented" and the girl replied she "thought so but wasn't sure," the court heard.

It is unclear whether the girl was aware of her pregnancy. Though the girl told the midwife that she had no clue, she was overheard saying to other people that she knew about it, Buckley told the court.

Further investigation pointed the fingers at the girl's teenage brother, who confessed to the crime. He told the officers that they had been "wrestling" downstairs while their parents were out. They then went "upstairs to bed as it was more comfortable." He said they began kissing before ending up having sex.

The prosecutor said there were no suggestions that any "coercion or threats had been involved" in the incident.

The boy's attorney Dean Pulling told the court that the accused's background came from "difficult and dysfunctional circumstances" where the mother and father created a culture of "secrecy and lies."

He said the children had been subjected to a "dysfunctional, neglectful, and potentially abusive upbringing" and there were "blurred sexual boundaries" and no parental control or guidance.

Pulling said the teenager was routinely exposed to pornography at his home from the age of 10. The court heard that the boy now lives with foster parents and is responding well to their positive influence. He is now remorseful.

The judge made the teenager the subject of a two-year youth referral order with a supervision requirement and an activity requirement. He will also be a registered sex offender for 30 months.
