14-Foot-Long Python Secretly Travels 155 Miles On Bus Full Of Passengers
Passengers who took a bus ride in India have had the fright of their lives after finding out that a 14-foot-long python secretly completed a 155-mile journey with them.
The bus was plying between Udaipur, a city in the western state of Rajasthan, and the country's financial capital Mumbai on Saturday. The passengers were completely unaware of the presence of the additional traveler throughout the journey and only found out about it after they reached their destination, reported Free Press Journal.
After the bus arrived in Mumbai, one of the passengers saw the huge python in the bus and shouted loudly to alert other travelers. This sparked panic among the passengers who then began rushing out of the vehicle.
Once all the passengers were out, some youngsters, who also were traveling on the bus, decided to conduct a rescue operation. They teamed up and attempted to capture the reptile. After about 30 minutes of hard work, they were able to safely remove the python from the bus and release it in a nearby forest, according to Latestly.
The snake is believed to have entered the vehicle even before it departed from Udaipur. The reptile then hid under the seat and did not harm any of the passengers. Even after the long journey, the snake did not move.
Meanwhile, photos and videos showing the youngsters safely removing the snake from the bus have since made rounds on social media.
Python molurus, more commonly known as the Indian python or the black-tailed python, is a large, nonvenomous snake species native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia's tropical regions. The species is generally lighter in color than the Burmese python.
Last week, a woman found a huge snake in a strike position on the back patio of her home in Australia. She immediately contacted a snake catcher who rushed to her home and safely rescued the reptile. The video of the rescue went viral on social media.
