16-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Hacking Alcoholic Father To Death Over Constant Torture

A teenage boy in India hacked his alcoholic, abusive father to death with an ax Friday.

The incident took place in the western state of Rajasthan. The police in Kota district said the 16-year-old boy was tired of the constant torture his father meted out on his family members, and decided to kill the man to end the ordeal.

On the day of the incident, the boy attacked his father multiple times while he was asleep. The victim – who was a history-sheeter with 27 criminal cases against him – died on the spot, The Times of India reported. He was identified as 45-year-old Abid Ali.

According to local media reports, Ali used to hit and harass his wife, two sons and a daughter while he was inebriated. He had also threatened to throw them out of the house on several occasions.

The police arrived at the scene of the incident on Friday after a complaint was filed. An autopsy was performed following which the victim's body was handed over to the family. The police then charged the boy for murder under the IPC (Indian Penal Code) Section 302. He was detained and set to be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.

Last month, a 17-year-old boy was accused of hacking his teenage sister to death with an ax over her relationship with a boy he disliked. The incident took place in Farrukhabad, a city in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. The police said the accused confessed to murdering his 15-year-old sister after she refused to end the relationship with the boy he detested. On the day of the attack, the brother and the sister got into an argument following which the former hacked the girl to death. After killing his sister, the boy turned himself to the police.

In 2019, a 15-year-old boy bludgeoned his father to death for repeatedly beating his mother. The incident took place in the eastern city of Kolkata in West Bengal. The boy admitted to the police he warned his father several times not to harm his mother. When his father did not listen to his warning, the boy used a stone block to kill the man. After killing his father, the boy went to the police station and surrendered himself. The boy had blood all over his clothes when he arrived at the police station. He also told the officers his father was heavily drunk when he assaulted his mother.
