A teenager in Pennsylvania was taken into custody after asking for help to dispose of a dead body during a video chat.

The police discovered the body of a deceased 13-year-old girl in Bensalem, and charged Joshua Cooper, 16, for the victim's death.

The juvenile's body was discovered Friday after a 911 caller told the Bensalem Police about the possible homicide.

The caller said her 16-year-old daughter received an Instagram video chat from Cooper, who was described as an "acquaintance," according to a statement released by the police department.

Cooper said on the video chat he killed someone. He then asked the 16-year-old girl for assistance in getting rid of the body, CNN reported.

"He then flipped the video image and showed the legs and feet of someone covered in blood. He then asked for assistance with disposal of the body," the police department said.

The cops were told Cooper lived in Top of the Ridge Trailer Park. They arrived at the property to find a juvenile exiting the back of a trailer and running away.

The officers entered the mobile home and found the victim with a gunshot wound on the bathroom floor. Signs suggested someone attempted to clean the crime scene, the police added.

The victim was neither related to Cooper nor a resident of Bensalem, WFMZ reported.

Cooper was found in the area of Newport Mews Drive and Groton Drive and taken into custody.

"Joshua Cooper was charged as an adult with the following crimes: Criminal Homicide, Possessing Instruments of Crime and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence. He was arraigned by District Justice Wertman, denied bail and sent to the Edison Juvenile Detention Center," the police department said.

Cooper told the investigators the girl's death was an accident.

Residents of Top of the Ridge Trailer Park were shocked to hear about a dead girl being found inside one of the mobile homes.

"I've lived in Bensalem on-and-off my whole life and I think that's the first time I've ever really seen the crime scene unit truck out like that, so it's really rare," a resident, Katlynn, told CBS News.

Charlie Petree, who has lived at Top of the Ridge for over three decades, said he heard the sound of a gunshot when the incident unfolded.

"And I come out and open the door and I see the boy run across there," Petree told the outlet.

He added the teenage suspect and his father began living there about six months ago.

"I talked to the boy out here on the bench a couple of times and he seemed troubled," Petree added.
