2 Chainz Arrested, Poses For Photo With Arresting Officers [PHOTO]
Rapper 2 Chainz was arrested Thursday and has the photo to prove it.
The hip-hop star was pulled over for speeding and ultimately arrested for possession of marijuana in Maryland, E! News reports.
Sgt. Marc Black, a spokesman for the Maryland State Police, detailed to the news source that 2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was found going 79 in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.
"Upon approaching the van, an odor of marijuana was smelled coming from the vehicle," Black told E! News. "A probable cause search was executed, and a backpack was found with a grinder and trace evidence of marijuana."
Epps was among seven people in the vehicle but was the only one arrested after he took ownership for the backpack, Black went on to say.
He was taken to a precinct where he was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia but was quickly released with a criminal citation, however, not before he posed for a photo with the officers that arrested him.
According to E! News, the officers described 2 Chainz as “coorperative.”
The rapper waited until after he was released to vent his frustration; he took to Twitter, sharing the photo and saying, “Locked me up and then Wanted pictures smh.
“We to jail for a grinder??? REALLY???” he added.
Despite the pit stop and photo-op, 2 Chainz performed at a show later Thursday night.
