2 Chainz Shot At And Robbed: Rapper Intended Target In Daytime Robbery
Rapper 2 Chainz was reportedly shot at during a robbery on Sunday in San Francisco, Calif. The 35-year-old rapper was with an entourage that included 14 people, and the incident occurred during the daytime, around 4 p.m.
Police told TMZ that cops were called after gunshots were heard in the afternoon, and, when they arrived at the scene, the “Like Me” rapper was not cooperating. Instead, he said he wanted to handle the situation on his own. The Atlanta rapper later told cops that only his wallet was stolen.
Though it is unclear who the assailant is, police stated after reviewing a surveillance tape that 2 Chainz was the intended target.
Just back in January, fellow rapper Rick Ross was also involved in a shooting while in Florida celebrating his 37th birthday. After eating at a restaurant and leaving in his Rolls-Royce, he was shot at several times around 5 a.m., TMZ reported.
Neither Ross nor a fellow passenger in the vehicle was hit, as the bullets missed the car. As Ross tried to get away, however, he crashed into a nearby building. Neither party was injured in the crash, police stated.
Though it was not confirmed that Ross was in fact inside the vehicle, witnesses told NBC Miami that it was in fact Ross in the Rolls-Royce. Police stated that the victims did not want their names released, because they feared for their lives.
"The occupants of the vehicle have asked for their information to be withheld from being released," Fort Lauderdale Police spokeswoman Det. DeAnna Garcia said. "They obviously, with everything that just took place, are fearful for their lives and their families lives."
Ross has never commented on the shooting.
