A couple in Arkansas was arrested on manslaughter charges after their 2-month-old baby died, while they were sleeping.

The child was found unresponsive as the parents slept late into the afternoon after staying up all night, smoking marijuana, prosecutors said.

The parents of the deceased child, identified as Vincent Heyns, 24, and Emily Heyns, 21, were arrested for the death of their infant son, Waylon Heyns.

The child's parents had slept at around 8-9 a.m. that day after staying up all night, trick or treating, watching movies, and smoking marijuana, Benton County Prosecutor Nathan Smith said, as reported by 5 News.

The child was reportedly fed before he went to sleep on Vincent's chest.

Waylon was found unresponsive after his grandparents woke up Vincent and Emily, who were sleeping around 2 p.m. on Nov. 1.

The exact cause of the child's death is not known, and further details regarding the case have not been revealed.

It was unclear if the child was still on Vincent's chest when the grandparent found him unresponsive.

In addition to manslaughter charges, the couple faces charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, ABC 7 reported.

According to reports, the couple had lost a child within the last year or two due to a co-sleeping accident. However, during that incident, they were not under the influence, Smith added.

The officials said the affidavit would be completed later Wednesday and the couple was scheduled to have a bond hearing on Thursday.

In an unrelated incident in September, the mother and uncle of a 4-year-old child in Florida were arrested on charges of child neglect and possession of a controlled substance after the kid fell out from a moving vehicle. The incident came to light after a witness called 911 after seeing the child fall from the vehicle. Three other unrestrained kids also remained in the backseat of the car, while the incident happened. The mother did not even realize the 4-year-old was missing from the vehicle and told the officials that she was sleeping in the front seat. The officers found marijuana in the vehicle, reports said.
