Professional basketball's Dallas Mavericks won the Espy awards for the best team and Drik Nowitzki was named best male athlete at ESPY Awards 2011 held in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Olympic and World Cup champion skier Lindsey Vonn picked up the trophy for best female athlete for the second straight year.
Other awards included best breakthrough athlete, which went to pro basketball player Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers and best championship performance for Tim Thomas, the goalie for pro hockey's Stanley Cup winner, the Boston Bruins. Thomas also was named best National Hockey League player.
