2012 Greenbrier Classic Golf: Free Live Stream, Leaderboard, Where-to-Watch, Preview and Prediction for Saturday's Action
The third round of the 2012 Greenbrier Classic is underway from The Old White TPC in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. US Open Champion Webb Simpson is in the lead at the halfway point after posting a 65-66 (-9) over the first two days.
The 26-year-old Simpson has made just one bogey so far at the Greenbrier and looks in command of his driver, hitting more than 80 percent of the fairways.
Simpson is establishing himself as a top player on tour over the past two seasons. He had two wins on tour in 2011, his first ever, propelling him to a second place finish in the FedEx Cup. This year he has won the Open and has five top-10 finishes in the 15 events he has entered.
If he can hang on and take the Greenbrier, he would become the fourth player this season with multiple victories.
Jonathan Bird, Jeff Maggert, Charlie Beljan, Jerry Kelly and Martin Flores are all one shot back of Simpson at (-8). The second round was delayed by rain for almost two and a half hours, and was eventually halted due to darkness. A handful of players will complete their second rounds this morning before the third round begins.
Tiger Woods posted his tour-leading third win of the season last week at the AT&T National last week and many observers were predicting that he had returned to his full prowess. But Woods was only able to scrape out even par over the first two days on a course he had never seen before this weekend and missed the cut by a stroke.
