2016 Festivals: Music, Comedy, Film and TV Events To Look Forward To In The New Year
If your resolution for 2016is to finally get in touch with your artistic side, then we have some good news for you! The new year is stuffed to the brim with exciting events, ranging from can’t-miss television festivals to side-spitting comedic events.

Television Festivals
- ATX Television Festival – Austin, Texas (June 9 – 12 )
Tickets: Badges currently cost $225
Lineup: TBD - San Diego Comic-Con – San Diego, California (July 21 – 24)
Tickets: Pre-registration is currently closed but Open Registration will take place in 2016.
Lineup : TBD - The Independent Television and Film Festival – Dover, Vermont (Sept. 21 – 15)
Tickets: Passes range from a $49 day passes to a $349 festival pass.
Lineup : The full line up has been released here. - New York Comic-Con – New York, New York (Oct. 6 – 9)
Tickets: Tickets will become available in 2016.

Music Festivals
- SXSW Music Festival – Austin, Texas (March 15 – 20)
Tickets: Admission currently costs $750
Lineup: The full line up has been released here. - Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (April 15 – 24)
Tickets: 2016 are not yet available
Lineup: TBD - Sasquatch! – George, Washington (May 27 – 30)
Tickets: General Admission costs $350.
Lineup: TBD - Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival – Manchester, Tennessee (June 9 – 12)
Tickets: Pre-Sale tickets have sold out. A limited number of General Admission will soon be made available.
Lineup: TBD - Firefly – Dover, Delaware (June 16-19)
Tickets: Early bird tickets are still available for purchase, ranging from $279 to $309, as well as VIP passes.
Lineup: The full line up, which includes Mumford & Sons and Florence & the Machine, has been released here.
- Newport Folk Festival – Newport, Rhode Island (July 22 – 24)
Tickets: Friday tickets are still available while supplies last for $64.
Lineup: TBD - Lollapooloza – Chicago, Illinois (July 28 – 31)
Tickets: Passes will become available in spring 2016.

Movie Festivals
- Sundance Film Festival – Park City, Utah (Jan. 21 – 31)
Tickets: Prices range from a $3,500 festival pass to a $20 individual ticket.
Lineup: Attendees can watch films like the premiere of “Manchester By the Sea,” starring Kyle Chandler, Michelle Williams and Casey Affleck, as well as “The Fits,” directed by Anna Rose Holmer. - Santa Barbara Film Festival – Santa Barbara, California (Feb. 3 – 13)
Tickets: Princes range from a $7,500 private access pass to a $10 donation.
Lineup: Rooney Mara will be awarded with the Cinema Vanguard Award on Friday, Feb. 12, while Johnny Depp is set to receive the newly renamed Maltin Modern Master Award during the event.
- SXSW Film Festival – Austin, Texas (March 11 – 19)
Tickets: Admission currently costs $625
Lineup: TBD - Tribeca Film Festival – New York, New York (April 13 – 24)
Tickets: Prices range depending on the film/event. Matinee Screenings cost $10 while evening and weekend films are priced at $18. Special events, like conversations and Q&A, cost $35, according to Time Out.
Lineup: Tina Fey and Tom Hanks will be attending the event as featured speakers. However, films have yet to be determined. - Toronto Film Festival – Ontario, Canada (Sept. 8 – 18)
Tickets: Prices range from regular to premium tickets ($18 - $48) and ages of purchaser.
Lineup: Attendees can watch “A Tale of Love and Darkness,” starring/directed by Natalie Portman, or “Jack,” a thrilling film directed by Elisabeth Scharang. - New York Film Festival – New York, New York (Sept. 30 – TBD)

Comedy Festivals
- Stage 773 / Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival – Chicago, Illinois (Jan. 7 – 17)
Tickets: Tickets differentiate per show
Lineup: Jenny Talia will take the stage along with improv groups like Citizens Abroad and Gentlemen Party. - RIOT / Los Angeles’ Alternative Comedy Festival – Los Angeles, California (Jan. 29 – 31)
Tickets: Super Fan tickets available for $110 or VIP Pass for $375
Lineup: Comedians from David Cross to Janeane Garofalo and Gilbert Gottfried are set to perform. - SXSM Comedy – Austin, Texas (March 11 – 20)
Tickets: Interactive Badge currently costs $1,095
Lineup: Fans can expect comedy veterans like Judd Apatow, Vanessa Bayer and Hannibal Burgess to take the stage. - Brooklyn Comedy Festival – Brooklyn, New York (Aug. 22 – 28)
