2017 MTV Woodies: Who’s Hosting The Awards, Where To Watch And Other FAQs
With SXSW underway in Austin, Texas, mtvU will once again host its annual Woodie Awards. Hosted by Rick Ross, the Woodies honor some of music’s best and newest stars with voting handled by the fans. Before the 2017 Woodie awards kick off, here’s everything you need to know about event including when and where to watch:
When Are The 2017 MTV Woodies?
The awards will air live on March 16 at 11 p.m. EDT on MTV. Just like last year’s show, the Woodies can also be streamed on the MTV website.
Who’s Performing?
Performers at the 2017 Woodies include Desiigner, D.R.A.M. and Lil Yachty, Jidenna, Khalid, Starley and host Rick Ross.
How Can I Get Tickets?
If you happen to be in Austin or want to take a trip to the awards, there is a chance to score free tickets. If you RSVP now on the Woodies website, you’re entered for a chance to win a ticket. The site warns that an RSVP does not guarantee admission and SXSW badge holders receive priority access.
How Can I Vote For Woodie Of The Year?
The night’s big award is the Woodie of the year, and voting will be exclusively handled on MTV’s Snapchat account. To vote, all you’ll have to do is take a screenshot of your favorite nominee. Nominees for Woodie of the year include Big Sean, The Chainsmokers, Chance The Rapper, Childish Gambino, Solange and Twenty One Pilots.
What Awards Are Up For Grabs?
Besides Woodie of the year, other awards include cover Woodie (best cover), songwriter of the year and Woodie to watch. This year’s Woodie to watch nominees include D.R.A.M., Lil Yachty, Dua Lipa, Lil Uzi Vert and Russ.
