KEY POINTS

  • Spurs will visit Boston on Wednesday night
  • Celtics are looking to bounce back, while the Spurs will try to build momentum
  • Kemba Walker is still questionable for the game

Gregg Popovich and his Spurs pulled off a huge stunner when they hammered out a resounding 126-104 victory against the NBA’s best Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. The Texas squad will feed off anything positive running as they are still in the middle of a 15-20 losing record which places them at eight in the West.

They are bringing in the much-needed confidence over to the TD Garden in Boston on Wednesday night. But the Celtics will look to stymie their momentum as Brad Stevens aims to regain his players’ bearings and bounce back from their own shocking 99-94 loss to the Washington Wizards also last Monday.

Spurs:

The Spurs shot the lights out from the rainbow country in the win over the Bucks as they buried a season-high 19 three-pointers. The Spurs' type of basketball was in full display as the team dished out 23 assists.

DeMar DeRozan top-scored the match with 25 points in 11-of-15 field goal shooting, including a rare three-point basket. He also had seven assists and three boards. LaMarcus Aldridge added 17 markers behind a 50 percent shooting clip. Patty Mills and Rudy Gay provided the spark off the bench as they combined for 38 points.

Celtics:

The absence of All-Star point guard Kemba Walker is undeniably being felt by the Celtics. The 6’0 UConn product has missed the last three games and is still questionable for Wednesday’s match.

The C’s shot a season-worst 34.7 percent from the field in the upset loss to the Wizards. Jaylen Brown tried to carry the team on his shoulders but his 23-point, 12-rebound performance all just went for naught.

Boston, though, is still second behind the Bucks in the Eastern Conference standings with a 25-9 record, and still one of the best teams when playing at home holding a 14-2 register inside the Garden.
