2020 Democrats Running For President: Joe Biden, Eric Holder Considering Candidacy Seriously
Former Vice President Joe Biden said Monday he is closer to making the decision on running for president in 2020.
"The answer is that I'm running the traps on this. I don't want to make this a fool's errand. I'm a lot closer [decision] than I was before Christmas, and we'll make the decision soon,” he told a Florida audience.
"The one thing that's for certain is we are in my view in a battle for America's soul. I'm making a decision now whether or not I'm the right person because it's important, it's critically important that we change the atmosphere,” he added, NBC-affiliated television station WRAL reported.
Not only Biden, former Attorney General Eric Holder is also reportedly considering running for the president. CNN’s April Ryan tweeted that Holder is consulting people regarding the matter and will make his decision soon.
The news of Biden and Holder considering candidacy comes a day after former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz announced that he may run as an independent candidate, a decision that was criticized by democrats who felt that a well-funded, third-party candidate could hand a second term to Donald Trump by reducing their vote share.
He, however, said in an interview with CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin that he won't "do anything to put Donald Trump back in the Oval Office.”
