'20/20' Preview: Marni Yang Gives First Network Jailhouse Interview About Rhoni Reuter's Murder
On Friday, a new episode of "20/20" will explore the case of Marni Yang, who is currently serving life in prison for the murder of Chicago Bears star Shaun Gayle's pregnant girlfriend. Now, Yang and her children are speaking out about the events that have transpired following her conviction.
Gayle, described as a "legendary football player for one of the greatest football teams of all time," once played for the '85 Bears. In 2007, he was dating a woman named Rhoni Reuter. As revealed by Reuter's brother in an interview with ABC journalist Juju Chang, he believed that his sister had wanted to marry the former defensive back, but was left with the impression that Gayle had not been ready to settle down.
On the day of her death, Reuter had been getting ready to go to work when she was "hit with several bullets" inside her home.

In the below preview, Gayle can be heard calling 911 after news of the shooting was publicized. During the call, he stated that he had become aware that he had been named a suspect in the crime, before asking if Reuter was okay. To that, the responding officer stated that she was not.
Following the shooting, the motive remained unclear. Gayle was initially looked at as a suspect, but he was eventually cleared two months after the murder. However, throughout questioning, police learned that Reuter had not been the only woman in his life, as Gayle had also been seeing Yang.
After learning of Yang, the police then organized a sting operation in order to draw out the truth from Yang. At that time, she was asked about what she had done with the gun. To that, she replied, "It's gone. It's so far gone."
Now, Yang will speak out in her first network jailhouse interview in the new episode of "20/20."
This episode of "20/20," called "Murder & Scandal in Chicagoland," will air Friday at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
