The 2021 CMA Awards held in Nashville Wednesday night witness the gathering of some of the biggest country music artists and other celebrities.
The star-studded awards show also served as a date night for some of the brightest couples in the industry, who set the red carpet on fire with their stylish ensembles and PDAs.
Nicole Kidman, who attended the event to support her husband Keith Urban, donned an edgy cutout Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello gown that flaunted off her midriff. She elegantly posed alongside Urban on the red carpet with one arm wrapped around his shoulder.
Miranda Lambert and husband Brendan McLoughlin also posed together on the red carpet wearing all-black as Lambert celebrated her 38th birthday. The singer opened the show with a medley of her biggest hits, including “Kerosene,” “Bluebird,” “Little Red Wagon,” “Mama’s Broken Heart,” and “Gunpowder & Lead.”
Also shutting down the 2021 CMA was powerhouse duo Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, who joined forces for their first live performance of their hit song “If I Didn’t Love You.” Aldean wore an all-black ensemble for the performance, which perfectly complemented Underwood’s dramatic black and smoky purple gown.
Dressed in black, “The Voice” coach Blake Shelton also came to the 2021 CMA Awards and roared his way through his fiery new track, “Come Back As a Country Boy.” The 10-time CMA Award winner set the scene on stage with a backdrop that mimicked his music video for the hit track. Noticeably absent at the event was his wife, Gwen Stefani, who had just wrapped her Las Vegas residency over the weekend.
Jimmie Allen, who recently danced his last dance on “Dancing With the Stars,” also made headlines following the 2021 CMA Awards after taking the stage at the event to perform his single “Freedom Was a Highway.” Wearing his bright pink ensemble, Allen also gave an emotional speech after he was hailed as the New Artist of the Year, making him the first African-American to win and be nominated in the category since 2010.
Other stars who graced the awards night were Carly Pearce, Gabby Barrett, Drew Parker, Russell Dickerson, Ashley McBride, Maren Morris, HARDY, Maddie & Tae, Cade Foehner, Breland, Caroline and Luke Bryan, Caitlyn Smith, Lady A, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Young.
