217,800 Jobs Added in May, Returning Employment To Pre-Recession Levels
The Labor Department released its May jobs report today revealing a 217,800 increase in nonfarm payrolls. This is the fourth month in a row with job gains above 200,000. May marks the first month employment has surpassed 2008's pre-recession levels.
Employment has risen by 8.8 million since February 2010's low of 129.7 million.
