Two people have been arrested and a 23-year-old man is wanted after a shooting in Eden, North Carolina, injured one man Friday, police said.

Eden police responded to a home in the 600 block of Riverview Street on a 911 call about a person getting shot in the early hours of Friday, Fox 8 reported, citing a news release from the Eden police department.

The unidentified 911 caller reported that a man broke into their house and shot another person before fleeing the scene.

On their way to the residence, police saw a Nissan Altima on Riverside Drive, driving away from Riverview Street at a high rate of speed.

The officers tried to stop the vehicle, but instead, a pursuit ensued. The car eventually stopped on North Carolina Highway 14.

But as the vehicle was stopping, one of the three passengers was able to jump out and escape.

Police took the two remaining people in the vehicle into custody. They were identified as 42-year-old Amanda Hopkins Carter and 31-year-old Marcus Lamont Graves, both of whom are from Eden. Carter was behind the wheel of the car, while Graves was sitting in the front passenger seat.

At the scene of the shooting, police found Craig McConnell suffering from a gunshot wound. The Greensboro, North Carolina, resident was brought to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

The third suspect who remains on the loose was identified as Jaqueal Raquan Berger, 23, of Eden.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Berger, who is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and first-degree burglary.

Carter was charged with operating a vehicle while fleeing/attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving and failure to stop at a red light.

Graves, on the other hand, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, for an unrelated matter, for possession of a firearm by a felon.

Carter and Graves are now in jail on $5,000 and $10,000 secured bonds, respectively. Carter is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on Nov. 23, WFMY News 2 reported.

According to police, the shooting incident may have been domestic in nature. However, authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting.

Police are continuing to track down Berger. They have requested help from the public for information on Berger and his whereabouts. Anyone with information about the 23-year-old can call Crimestoppers at (336) 349-9683.
